Upcoming Community Events
From September 15–30, Compassionate Las Vegas has been invited to experience Flyover Las Vegas at no cost while taking part in a first-of-its-kind scientific study exploring the intersection of immersive entertainment and wellness.
Availability is limited, with sessions offered at various times of the day and into the early evening from September 15–30. Additional time slots within those dates may be released based on demand.
When registering, please select the organization or community group that referred you “How did you hear about this event?”: (Compassionate Las Vegas or TEDxLasVegas)from the dropdown.
Las Vegas—a city known for pushing the boundaries of entertainment—is a fitting place to explore this emerging space at a time when wellness is becoming increasingly important across many communities. Because sharing the full purpose of the study in advance could influence the experience and affect the findings, we can’t reveal much more just yet. However, select participating community groups may also be invited to a separate post-study conversation hosted by TEDxLasVegas later this year, where participantscan go behind the scenes of the research, hear more about the study design and questions explored, and hear from the founders and scientists behind this study.
Flyover—located on Las Vegas Boulevard, directly across from Park MGM—is an immersive “flying theater” experience in which guests sit in suspended motion seats before a massive spherical screen and feel as though they are flying through extraordinary natural landscapes, surrounded by sweeping imagery, sound, wind, mist, scent, and motion.

Jameson Fellow Renisha O'Donnell, M.Ed., is facilitating a Restorative Series at the Interfaith Contemplative Center. It's a monthly restoration experience open to all. Each session is unique and can be attended individually or as part of the full series. You can use the promo code COMPASSION at checkout for complimentary tickets for the JF.
Speedway Children's Charities invites your organization to volunteer sometime between October 2-4, 2026, during the NASCAR weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In appreciation of your generosity, the Speedway will donate two tickets for you to watch the race the same day you volunteer, following your shift. They need the most volunteers Saturday and Sunday, but could use a handful for Friday. There is no race on Friday during the day, but they will have the Hauler Parade and free activities for a few hours in the Fan Zone here. No one under 18.
Please be sure to submit a nomination in a Word Document, not in the body of an email, for a child who has received services from your charity and has shared their passion for racing. In 500 words or less, describe why you think this child would enjoy being part of NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Please submit a photo of the young nominee. The winner of this package will receive a variety of benefits, one-of-a-kind experiences, and tickets to the race! Nominees who are not selected as this year’s VIPKid will still receive four race tickets to enjoy NASCAR’s South Point 400. Past winners had their photo taken in Victory Lane after the race with the winner AND were front and center, giving high-fives to the race car drivers as they came off the stage during driver introductions! The VIPKid also receives three VIP tickets to enjoy the races on Saturday and Sunday from SCC’s catered, air-conditioned suite!

2020 Jameson Fellow, Anabel Chavva, transitioned departments at UNLV and is now overseeing the Well Connect Program at the School of Medicine. The program is a free, remote resource navigation service that connects community members with health, social, and community resources. Their first- and second-year medical students work directly with clients to help them identify and access resources that meet their individual needs.
2026 Jameson Fellow, Jennifer Moore, is now offering outpatient services for children and their families, starting at age 2, at Foundations Counseling Center!
