Dear 2026 Jameson Fellows,
We are accepting referrals for the 2027 Jameson Fellow Cohort! We encourage you to make a recommendation.
Journal Prompt: Think of something youâre struggling with right now. Write about it as if you were comforting a close friend:
- What happened, without judgment or blame?
- What emotions am I feeling, and where do I notice them in my body?
- How is this experience part of being human rather than evidence that something is wrong with me?
- What do I need to hear right now?
- What is one small, caring thing I can do for myself today?
Self-Care Activity: The Self-Compassion Letter
- Place a hand over your heart and take three slow breaths.
- Write yourself a short letter from the perspective of someone who understands you completely.
- Include these three ideas:
- Mindfulness: âThis is difficult right now.â
- Common humanity: âStruggling doesnât make me defective or alone.â
- Kindness: âI deserve patience and care while I work through this.â
- Finish with one realistic next step - something supportive, not demanding.
A closing phrase you can borrow: âI donât have to solve everything today. For now, I can meet myself where I am.â
