“This is a moment of suffering. Suffering is part of life. May I be kind to myself in this moment.” — Dr. Kristin Neff
Dear 2026 Jameson Fellows,
We’re excited to make the week of October 5 a special Jameson Fellowship Week! With several community events taking place, this will be a wonderful opportunity to connect, meet other fellows, and engage with our broader community.
Please save the dates:
- Tuesday, October 6: The Mob Museum has generously invited us for a complimentary visit focused on restorative practices, one of our key areas of focus. Click here to register. Use discount code clv2026
- Friday, October 9: Join us for a FINAL 2026 Jameson Fellow workshop focused on circles of trust at United Way of Southern Nevada.
- Saturday, October 10: Gather your cohort fellows and participate in the Walk for Water at the Springs Preserve. Click here to register.
We hope you’ll take part in these events and make the most of this week of learning, connection, and community. Additional details will be shared soon.

Suicide Prevention Month Toolkit
Here is how you can show your support this September:
💡 Light Up the Night: Swap your porch lightbulbs to purple and blue to signal hope to your community.
🫶 Reach Out: Send a quick text to check in on a friend—it might be exactly what they need to hear.
🫂 Gather Your Circle: Host a conversation at your school, workplace, or home to break the stigma.
💬 Spread the Word: Share our toolkit directly to your Instagram Story.
Journal Prompt: “The Compassion I Can Carry”
Think of a time when you felt seen, supported, or less alone—without describing anything that feels overwhelming.
- What words, actions, or presence helped?
- What signs might tell you that you or someone else needs extra care?
- Write three compassionate sentences you could offer yourself and three you could share with someone struggling.
- Complete: “Asking for help is an act of courage because…”
Self-Care Activity: Create a “Stay Connected” card
On a small card or phone note, write:
- One grounding activity that helps you feel present.
- Two people or communities you can contact for support.
- Three reasons to pause and stay connected today.
- One crisis-support resource available in your area.
Decorate or personalize the card, then keep it somewhere easy to reach. End the activity with five slow breaths and one small act of care... drinking water, stepping outside, stretching, or messaging someone you trust.
This activity supports reflection and connection, but it isn’t a substitute for professional care. Anyone in immediate danger should contact local emergency services or dial 988 Suicide Crisis Lifeline right away.
Fellows Spotlight Form: Complete the Fellows Spotlight Form, OR we invite you to interview and submit on behalf of a peer fellow. Check out all the fellows we've spotlighted so far this year by clicking below.
